We're pregnant!

For the past few days Brian and I have been tossing around the idea that we might have gotten pregnant. I expected my period yesterday, about a month after the wedding, and it didn't come. I wasn't too surprised because I thought that I might have been affected by stress.

Brian got it into his head that he want us to take the at home pregnancy test to be sure. As a joke, our best man at the wedding and his wife left us a pregnancy test at the house while we were on the honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. So here we were, searching the house for the pregnancy test which had gotten thrown around as we arranged furniture, laundry, Christmas decorations, and wedding supplies.

We found it and I took the test. Brian and I sat and watched and suddenly the word "Pregnant" appeared on the digital readout screen. We were both a little stunned. Very, very happy. But stunned.

Since we're only three days from Christmas, we're not going to tell anybody until then. But we're both busting at the seems to tell someone. The reality hasn't quite sunken in yet. And we're not absolutely able to believe it either. We're planning on testing again on Christmas Eve.

We're going to have a baby!

The McConnell's are so happy for you. Remember St. Gerard Majella...
he is the Patron Saint of Expectant Mothers and their Unborn Children.
